ANGRAU – Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University
Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU) was established on 5 June 1964 under the APU Act 1963. Initially, its name was Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University (APAU). Which was later renamed Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University on 7 November 1996. This agriculture university has been named in honour and memory of famous parliamentarian and farmer leader Acharya NG Ranga. ANGRAU helps students from 13 districts of new Andhra Pradesh to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees in agriculture and the development of farmers.
The main objective of ANGRAU is to promote areas such as education, research and extension.
- Education – To train the human resource necessary for the development of the state of Andhra Pradesh. To train people in agriculture, agricultural engineering, community science, and allied fields.
- Research – continuously strives to generate new technologies to increase production productivity and profitability in fields such as agriculture, agricultural engineering, and community science.
- Extension – To assist in the process of transfer of technology through the dissemination of education in collaboration with the Agriculture and allied departments of the
